Shannon Field - 2015 Mowing

Unread post by Tom B T-28 » Wed May 27, 2015 12:59 pm

Well it was such a nice morning after the fog burned off that I went out and gave the field its first mowing. The growth was starting to get thick in the pit area and certainly around the perimeter of the field. It looks great now but we will have to keep ahead of the dandelions that seem to pop up daily :D

Hello All! I'm Back!
I was out to the field today and mowed down all the weeds and a few sprigs of grass! Should be ready for the weekend and hopefully it won't grow back too fast. Hopefully this weekend will be a better flying weather than what you have been experiencing!

Hey..Tom 2, good to hear your back! Hope you had a good western visit.

We did miss you as we watched the dandelions grow last weekend. However the rain on Saturday and the gales on Sunday kept a lot of us grounded while we watched Brian fly the Visionaire as if it was a nice calm day. We increased our membership by three last weekend.

I got down to mow the field late this afternoon so it is already for the breakfast club tomorrow morning! :D Hopefully the winds will calm down soon.

Thanks Tom4, I missed you this AM; stopped by twice to show my 9 lb Cap232...took it to Shearwater, but no flying there due to 50,000 ball hockey players and 6000 cars on the runway full of anxious parents....
It was bumper to bumper on Caldwell Road for 70 minutes before getting to the field for a meeting. Only good thing that occurred was the possible sale of the Cap.

..see you Sunday, with the brushless Hobbyzone Cub. It flys much better with up to 170 watts.

This is a special "shout out" to Tom for mowing the grass! What an amazing job! The grass level is perfect and allowed for some great flights this morning!

Thanks for your efforts!

I trimmed up the field late this afternoon so it is ready for the weekend. Hopefully clear skies and low winds will prevail! :D
