Beaver Bank old Halifax Site

Unread post by Raptor » Thu Jan 18, 2024 2:18 pm

As many of you already know, a group of flyers from Shearwater is /are working on getting the Beaverbank runway active again for general use. A group of people are going to that location on Saturday to start cutting back the brush around the field . There are posting on both the Shearwater site and the Beaverbank site forms , if you are able to lend a hand please post a note on the form and let everyone know . The runway out there is still in good shape and we have already used it this year on Jan 1, 2024

Thank you

For those wondering where all this is happening

here is the street view of the entrance taken June of 2023

And looking up the hill of the lane heading to the field, you can see the sign of HRCC.

It is good for all flyers that another field may be available this coming season. The field will be closer for some and farther away for others, but it will be a new experience to fly there. Some flyers will apppreciate the paved runway, which means less grass to mow and more time to fly.

Have a look. It will be another asset. It may bring back some flyers who have been away from flying. I look forward to seeing people again this summer at the various fields around the province.

For those that have been following the possible reactivation of the flying field at Beaver Bank, there has been created a members only section. If you are interested in more details about the club, or want to contribute plans, pictures, or general flying information, sign up for a login.

For those not familiar here is a link to the forum

Looks spicy over there!
I can’t seem to access any relevant documents as a non-member. I assume when the membership approves the rules they will be made public? I’ll be curious to see what comes of it.
