It appears that the camera has auto focused on the props. One of the benefits of mounting the camera below the frame on a set of stilted landing gear.

I don't think it has auto focus, John if it did it would always be focusing on the auto windshield, as its sold as a dash cam..i'm thinking the fish eye
lens, might be the culprit, I'm going to retry the VGA mode next flight, as a reference.

Here's one that also looks promising..
its listed under $50 on Amazon...

One thing I've found over the last couple years of buying and testing numerous cameras...end of the day the best, simplest, and with most options for mount, gimbals, etc is gopro, and all the cheap cameras one buys soon add up to what the gopro costs in the end.

I actually use the Dash cam at work, Mark, and was paid for by my company, so no Biggy there, just trying out some options here for the guys. 8-)
The Vivatar 1080p looks promising, now if I can convince the Boss... ;)

John, I have tested the Cam with the car on the dash and outside, and it appears to have a fixed focus, of about 10ft...

Bummer. Time to get a GoPro. Check kijiji and stuff for used Hero2. You should be able to find one cheap and they're still great for AP/AV.
