TECH ONE FOAMIES
The December FLY RC mag, page 74, contains an article about the Tech One "Malibu F3P" foamy and has a decent recommendation from Scott Stoops.
Further investagation got me to this site..and they have a large lineup of models
http://www.techonehobby.com/
The price of the Malibu seems very good at $39.99 and the fact that the Distributor is GREAT PLANES means we should be able to get these models through John at Maritime Hobby. (Not saying that the other shops cannot get them, so please don't shoot the messenger!)

Well, if Great Planes are the distributor...they sure are not publicizing it..
But here's a link to Tower Hobbies that at least shows US prices...

Re: TECH ONE FOAMIES
The Piaget I've been flying recently is a Techone model and I got it from HobbyKing:
http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbyking/stor ... oduct=8472
It was my Hurricane Earl project.
It was very finicky to build mostly because of the carbon fiber bracing and I didn't think it would fly very well. But it actually flys like a dream even in high winds believe it or not!
I just ordered the small Yak (also from Techone) for indoor:

Re: TECH ONE FOAMIES
Good stuff Rick, I did'nt know that one was from Techone...good to hear..
The indoor one looks perfect...excellent combo deal, lots of cf to keep it together.
Seems like this company has a great lineup.
I sent an email to John at MH to see if these are available to him from Great Planes.

Re: TECH ONE FOAMIES
If anyone else wants to build one of the Techone models let me know and I will write up my lessons learned with the Piaget.

Re: TECH ONE FOAMIES
I got THIS reply from John at Maritime Hobby with regard to the Techone Hobby Foamies..
Hi Bill,
I checked with Great Planes & they have the Techone planes in stock......at reasonable prices........
I will have motors & esc's to match in a few days.......
John
This is good news, with the Indoor Flying season opening in two weeks...!

Re: TECH ONE FOAMIES
My Mini Christen Eagle is a TechOne model as well, from HK last year, although not really 3d capable. It's entirely made of thin EPP sheets. Without the carbon bracing it was so floppy I didn't believe it would ever fly...
