Taranis Transmitter - Need Help

I got a Taranis Open Source Transmitter about a year ago, but with my limited knowledge (NONE!) of programming I have not been able to make the magic of the transmitter work.
I would especially like to make use of its Telemetry function for my sailplanes.
Has anyone out there had Taranis programming experience who could guide me through the basics of setting up my system??
