One less channel and 10 fewer model memories than the DX8. The hardware/software is likely almost identical judging by the features.

Hey...go easy now..I might buy one of these..!

Looks to have about everything I'm looking for.....coming out in JUNE 2011 and DSMX ready,,!

Let's see now:

..20 memories,
..an SD card,
..telemetry for my on board battery,
..a $300 price tag, (instead of $430.)
..I'll be able to use those good working cheap receivers,

..and just maybe they have not built any bugs into this one.

..interesting,

Bill

Ok..now the negative side of the "new DX7s"....

They hype the news about "built in telemetry"......however it does not work until you lay out more cash for the unit that goes in the model..!
So once again a manufacturer is treating us as if we're stupid..!

They have decided to NOT BACKLIGHT the screen....even though it's the same screen as the DX8 which is backlit..!

No "glider mode" on this DX7s ...

Although both radios have SD cards...files CANNOT be exchanged between the two model radios; only between radios of the same series.

No glider mode on DX8 either.

D/R and Flight Mode switches on the DX7S are all two position instead of three. Could be one of the reasons why the model files are not compatible between the two.

Yeah....now that I have radio funds burning a hole in my pocket, (sold three planes), I'm on the hunt.
Gotta decide between what I WANT and what I NEED..always tough..!

Back before Xmas, new DX7's Tx's were being sold for $170US shipped. I guess they cleared them out. When I enquired whether this guy would have DX8's he said "No, the margin is not worth it".

I have a Fr-Sky module coming to convert my Hitec Optic to 2.4Ghz and I have five of their receivers so that will ease the pressure some.
The first module I got was defective so it got returned...the replacement left HK a week ago...so I hope it works.

Meanwhile we'll watch for more new product.....
