I had this. Gave it to my nephews in September to 'encouage' them to learn to fly. They may have them at Doo Dads still, they were $35.

This is E-sky's rebranded version of the FMS simulator, which I really like. FMS is freeware, available here, and with a little googling will work with most Tx's that have a trainer port. If you're feeling ambitious you can even use Metasequoia freeware to design your own planes for it.

I tried to order this from Amazon, and found this out:

Please note that the following items cannot be shipped to APO, FPO, or DPO addresses: Apparel, camera and photo items, cell phones and service, computers, most electronics items, hardware, housewares, kitchen items, outdoor living items, software (including games), and tools.

Apparently no electronics can be shipped to Canada. I thought this odd, but I have never purhcased from Amazon before. Seems its kind of touchy on what you enter for information.

So I'll keep shopping around.

It was not because of the reason you give. It is because the shipper (not Amazon.com by the way) does not want to ship outside of the US.

Here is another link you can try... it's even cheaper at $15.94 Canadian. They are located in Hong Kong and the shipping would be $24.14 Canadian...

dealextreme.com has a couple of different USB TX trainer controllers, and they have FREE shipping. They have the same E-sky one that you folks are talking about. It's pretty good, but after using mine a lot, I found that pots in the sticks started to not work quite right, and thus, was cause for constant input correction. I gave mine to my nephew, and I plan to buy two more as Christmas gifts.

Here is the link for the E-Sky one, for $22.95 USD, (free shipping):

Has anyone tried this 6 channel USB controller? I was thinking about ordering two of them.

Speaking of "sims"...there is one called "PHOENIX" that is not cheap at $179.00 Canadian, BUT...the controller they send is the Speckrum DX5 ...a 5 channel Tx with dual rates, elevon setup, and servo reversing. So you buy a $50. receiver (A500) and your good to go at the field...
Google "Phoenix simulator" for info..

here's the link Bill. Phoenix is a great sim. Wish they had this deal when I bought it several years ago.

and their web site is here.

they have just started selling with horizon again. You can download a non interactive demo from their web page to see how your computer can handle the graphics. It needs less computer power than realflight.

You can shoot pano pictures and add shannon park to the simulator complete with collision detection and they also have a model and flying field creation program that is excellent, allowing you to add planes with your actual color scheme. This is free, as are ALL models and upgrades to the program itself.

Thanks Al, so I take it you have been satisfied with Phoenix ..

I am in the market and have been doing some checking on various sims ...this one does get you into 2.4Ghz as well with a modest 5 ch unit, so that's a plus along with their promise of free updates.
