Redcon DSMX Compatible Receiver With Satellite

Unread post by wildblue30 » Sat Sep 14, 2019 12:18 pm

Hi guys,

I was telling Bob about this at the field this morning. I have over a dozen flights on this "clone" DSMX receiver with satellite in my Voltigeur. Works great so far with full range as much as I can tell. Not a bad deal at only $16 USD from banggood.com. User reviews rate it at 4.96 stars out of 5.

What sort of shipping time are you getting from Banggood, Jeff? I'm getting tired of long waiting times from HobbyKing.

Hi Bill,

The usual shipping time for items from Banggood is about 3 weeks. If you want faster shipping from HK, just add in a LiPo battery to your cart. If you meet the qualifying order amount, you'll get free FedEx shipping (*).

* - does not include customs fees payable after receipt ;-)

I always tend to stick with genuine Spektrum receivers as these *should* be very reliable. The transmitter / receiver is the heart of the system and certainly any issues there will only compound to the rest of the plane.

Now... that said... many have had great results with the third party receivers. And for sure the price is right. A smaller 4-channel AR400 (even they even still exist!) will set you back $40 and a 6-channel closer to $55-$60. Neither of these include the satellite. And a AR636 will be breaking $100 with the stabilizer.

Keep us informed!!!

Hi Brian,

For certain Spektrum is the king around here, for the type of flying most of us do. Even Spektrum, however, has its detractors. My main reason for trying this Redcon brand is that many of the OrangeRX DSMX receivers (which I have been using for years) are currently out of stock on the Hobby King website. As discussed earlier in this thread, Banggood offers another alternative to genuine Spektrum receivers for those of us who have more time to wait and less money to spend...

So I guess I will be the "guinea pig" in our group and report back as to how reliable Redcon is.

Off topic...but I've had great success with the LEMON brand receivers.....not a "sour" one in the bunch as yet...and their service is great. You can converse with them directly on their website. Their latest units are now including stabilization and telemetry, all units are compatible with Spektrum.
