Careful -- I read about somebody receiving fake HS-65's just the other day, and I think they might have been coming from that source.

Even DealExtreme is selling them for $32 these days, $23 sounds too good to be true.

I found the post - it was on helifreak news blog and the poster griped that two of the three clone servos he bought from targethobby were DOA. A clone 65MG for $69, sounds like quite a steal!

It has come to my attention that "fake" Hitec servos are being sold from
China.
I sincerely hope that the Hitec servos I purchased in this order are
genuine.

If by chance you are shipping fake Hitec servos, it will kill all sales from
the 57 members of our flying club.

Sorry I couldn't get you those links sooner but the helifreak news blog was offliine for a while.

Now to the awkward part: I'm not comfortable with anyone claiming to represent me or my views to a third party, as part of a group or otherwise. I have certainly noted the HF & RCG reports and would look a little harder still before ordering from targethobby, but I won't write them off based on any single experience or post.

Actually at the time of writing that email, we have 17 paid up members. I hope I got Target's attention though.

Well, this reply came from Target today...regarding my Hitec servo order:

Hi Bill,

This is 100% real hitec servo, not fake. We are supplied by a hitec distributor in Hong Kong.
