No matter what the full size guys may claim, just about all aerodynamic advancements originate with models. This is a great achievement and we should be proud that it is CANADIAN.
I'd love to have a matched pair of those rotors for a lightweight RC sailplane.
The multi rotor aircraft is the future of aviation. I remember following avidly the British Flying Bedstead and the development of the hovercraft in the 50's, but today's rapid multicopter development is just amazing. Just wish I was 50 years younger.
