B25

I got a FMS B25 a week ago. I had to add my own electronics and power system.
I read there were issues with the way the wings were joined. They are held on by two carbon rods with only a 'clamp' to hold them in. I decided to cut the rods in half and glue them into the wings. I then installed aluminium tubes into the fuse as wing joiners. I added small blocks into the bottom wing the sits over a toung with a screw in them to stop tyem from sliding off the ali tubes.
I decided on a Canadian scheme so I had to remove all the turrets and guns.

GORGEOUS!

A Cdn B-25, I did not know until I saw your colour and goggled it.

I've been thinking B-25 also or the HK Halifax (lots of issues with version 1.0). Looking forward to seeing it fly and seeing the mods you did

I don't remember the motor. They are hc outrunners that draw 20amps on a 10x7 prop. These are the same motors I used in my Richmond Models P38.

I did the maiden this morning at shearwater. A few clicks if trim was all that was needed. Loops are ok and the rolls are very nice.

This is out of action for a while. On sunday an esc shorted.
The plane came down in brush and started a small fire in the bush it fell into. Rob was there with a fire exctingisher so no real issues. One wing and nacelle with all the gear are gone, the rest of the plane is fine. Will need to order replacements.

Ouch! Bad news - sorry Marc. One of your own ESCs or stock?

One more reason to have a fire extinguisher handy.

Knowing how to use one is even better - does this mean that Rob gets his MAAC "SAR" Wings?

The esc was one I had for a few years. I was glad the extinguisher was on hand and glad that Rob is a fast sprinter.
