Unread post by tower » Wed Feb 27, 2013 2:01 pm

Hi Folks
An added event this year at the Gathering – we are going to turn out the lights a couple of times during the day (with some warning) and try some indoor night flying. Get those flashlights taped on!
Remember to bring some indoor shoes with you.
We hope to see you on the 23rd
Cheers

Some of you may not realize the impact Steve has made with his exotic experimental aircraft. He has for quite a while been in contact with Andrew Probert of Star track StarShip Enterprise fame http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Probert and if you scan down on the youtube film of Steve's model there is a very complimentary post from Andrew Probert.
It looks like this project is becoming a major event and it is likely that Steve may have a significant place in it.

yep, it's very cool - actually, i have the honor of building this Enterprise 'F' Future Ship model with Andrew Probert's permission, associated with the "Enterprise in Space" project. although he is an artist, he has developed quite an interest in the aerodynamics of the puzzle of getting his artistically created starship to fly in our atmosphere.

"Enterprise in Space" is a nonprofit project currently underway to put a real 8 foot Enterprise satellite into Earth orbit to perform an actual science and educational mission, and then retrieve the vessel via re-entry for future permanent display. Supporters will get a serious bang for the buck, names sent to space and such, compared to say, money spent on a fictional hollywood movie. HEFA's been a big help to me in this whole thing in my progression in electric flight etc. thanks guys!
