Awesome pictures as always Al!

I was really torn between going to this event and flying at the field but the weather made up my mind for me and it was a good day. So many flying opportunities and so little time!

Steve Ryan and I made the road trip to Kentville had a great time at the Valley Gathering, as you can see from his video. Met some new folks, picked up a good deal at the swap meet, and even got invited to join in as an impromtu guest presenter at the "Scratch Building" seminar.

Steve flew nearly non-stop the whole day with his two own-design flying wings, while I filled out the entire flying wing representation at the meet with my two indoor Komets. I also put my SE5A through it's paces, and had a special WWI-only session with Jon Eastman's E-Flite Fokker DVII and his friend's Nieuport 17. With realistic machine-gun sound-effects provided by a young attendee, the scene was right out of the skies over the French trenches in 1917!

Good fun had by all!

yes, that young fella was right into it and from his lips came the most accurate machine gun sounds I've ever heard. I think he WAS the reincarnation of the red baron!

you can hear him on the video starting at 5;54...................
