That's a nice deal Bill, but you're likely to pay less locally since the price is the price; no shipping or insurance charges unless you elect to use a courier.
Given my carnage today, P-51 is in very rough shape, and a couple of broken batteries, I need to save wherever possible.
Mugi is fixed and the meat tray flyer is repairable.

I am pleased to hear that the site is acceptable. Would have been there except had to replace my water heater. Don't most people have to replace water heaters on week-ends?
Actually I forgot. Would have rushed the water heater job to get at least a few minutes of time to watch. If my order for small batteries and speed controllers arrive from HK in time I will be there at one of the next events. Should have 2 lightweight planes ready, maybe even 3.
Does anyone have pictures? I know when there is good flying for everyone, picture taking can be overlooked.

I did see someone taking pics or video...maybe Andrew S.
I had four items to fly so left the camera home.........did not have many idle moments between flying and fixing.
The PRCC is about 8.5 KMs past the Exhibition Park bldg on the Prospect Road (earlier I had said 7kms) and you come upon the driveway suddenly, so you can miss it. Nice large parking lot in front though, so keep a look for that when going.

Bill,
Just realized after reading your post that it is the rubber floor that kept tearing my HK foamie on landing. It would stick like glue to the floor and just rip the foam around the motor mount and front of the plane where it touched the floor on landing. I guess I will have to put the landing gear back on for the next session to save the foam.

Hi Rhoady,
Jack told me to ask you about the trials and tribulations of flaps.

The floor seemed to be a little harder on my GWS8043 props as well.

Actually I booked this venue as a challange for all of us to perfect our takeoffs and landings under "adverse" conditions.
Just trying to make better flyers out of all of us..!
No complaints from the heli flyers..!

Brian, I was poking fun at Rhoady, just make sure you do not have too much flap angle to start with, say 15-30 deg. and be aware the nose may pitch up if you do.Metalhead wrote:Hi Rhoady,

also test them, way up, at altitude to get a feel for the Pitch/Drag, before you get close to the ground.

Re: Prospect Community Center venue..
Brian,
As per Jacks comments pitch up is good what is not good is pitch down. I know this from experience and it cost me $350.00 on the second flight. I had pitch up on the first flight with the Aj Slick until I mixed in some down elevator to compensate. The down elevator fixed the pitch up with the flaps on but it turned out to be to much down and before I knew it I was picking up pieces. I agree with Jack, if you are testing flaps I would do it 4 mistakes high and with no power so the effect of the flap will be mild just in case you have to much pitch in either direction. At least with no power and being up high you will have time to turn the switch off and recover.
