LEADING EDGE "CUFF" - explanation

The new ICON A5 sport aircraft has decided to go the "no flaps route" in favor of "wing cuffs" for safety reasons.

They expect to sell ($135,000.00 each for the first 100) many of these amphibious aircraft to NEW PILOTS.

Without flaps it will be a simpler aircraft to fly.

The wing cuffs are reported to prevent spin non recovery and to aid greatly in a stall as they allow the ailerons to still function.
