SP - Large Hole

Unread post by bdg » Sat Mar 30, 2019 3:35 pm

I believe that it was Jeff G who had mentioned that there was a large hole just off the right of the path down to the field. Well - it is indeed quite a hole. We have erected what I can only say are temporary measures to identify the area.

Essentially, there is a network of underground metal culverts and manholes that take away storm water from the area near the school all of the way to the harbour. In our area, the metal culvert has corroded and therefore has allowed all of the soil above to be washed away.

Be careful and aware. And thanks again, Jeff, for pointing this out.

Well - it did not take long for Canada Lands to correct this problem! Kudos to them for addressing this so quickly. Drove by SP this evening to find a large excavator and the previous hole safely covered.

Everyone is safe again!!!

Excellent news Brian. I guess the thought of a possible "liability situation" moves a situation like this to the front burner.

Our next concern will be a lease renewal, hope that gets addressed as quickly.

Liability or just doing the right thing.... not sure (I am no lawyer!!!) but either way CL addressed this swiftly and that attention to resolving this is certainly appreciated by the users of the field!!
