Re: SEPT 3-4-5 HEFA EVENTS..!
Another m-a-r-v-el-o-u-s weekend is upon us, and I remind all that the HEFA RIBFEST will be a GO this SUNDAY at the Shannon field, with Chef Bob at the controls of that wicked little stainless steel burner we bought in April.
This might well be our last BBQ at this field, with the lease expiring at the month end. So come on down..!
cheers,
Bill

A big thank you to Bob (and his wife) for the delicious Pork Ribs which were served this morning.
There are a handful of members who are spoiling us with their endless generosity and contributions to the club and we should be be making it up to them in some meaningful way.

Re: SEPT 3-4-5 HEFA EVENTS..!
Just a great day today, seventeen flyers out, some new models being flown, and then there was the RIBFEST..!
We had a few more members than expected so a mad dash was made to Sobey's for some back up hot-dogs, and I polished off the last one of those.
You could not ask for a better day weather wise, and the bottom line is that we are going to miss the proximity of the Shannon field to a lot of the members homes. It has been very convenient to be able to fly within the City these last eight years or more.
Getting back to the BBQ, which was our FIFTH this summer, we thanked Bob for being our Master Chef, as well as contributing the ribs for today's cookout. To show our appreciation, the members presented Bob with a new fuselage for his Apprentice model. This plane was his first, and as you know, you always remember your first. So when it got a bit beat up and he discovered Gorilla Glue, well, it was operational again, but you just knew he wanted to renew the fuselage. He now has a fleet of three models and they all will have that pristine look of newness.
Thanks everyone for coming out, especially John and Marilyn L. who showed up with John in a wheelchair after cracking up both legs in July from a fall.
..a few pictures from today, should have gotten more, but you can get the idea.."good times in the Maritimes"..!
