Great story about how the DC-3 got floats. This story has a personal connection as I actually received my floatplane rating from Max Folsom back in the 80's and have seen these floats.

Fascinating John. I saw and photographed that DC-3 on the river in Bangor years ago. Wanted to but never did get to the floatplane base in Maine where it was based.
