ASRCM - Saturday Oct 14 2023

The winds looks too high for flying tomorrow (Saturday). I won't be heading up to ASRCM. Hopefully Sunday is better.

Looking at tomorrow, doesnt seem any better and possibly rain. Hopefully next weekend, or possibly an afternoon thru the week.

I agree Paul, the sustained winds and gusts aren't going to drop down to reasonable levels until late morning or early afternoon. I'm going to pass on tomorrow (Sunday) as well. Hopefully next weekend is better.

Guys,

You missed a great morning, sometimes it pays not to listen to the weather forecast!! I checked it early this morning and the winds had changed so i decided to take a chance and I went to the field. I got to fly my 1/4 scale cub and mini funtana and I had the field all to myself. They must have had a lot of rain Friday and Saturday because the field was very wet but manageable.

The afternoon appears to have been even better. Others showed up later and were rewarded as well, with light winds and bright sun, it seems. See ASRCM site.

The Cub has a Saito 100 4 stroke glow engine however if I had my time back I would have gone with a 120 4 stroke for some extra power. The 100 is great for scale flying but not much else. Not sure of the all up weight but I think it is around 15-pounds.
