Weekend - October 15/16, 2022
Well... well.... well...!!! Saturday was a bust for me but Sunday - oh Sunday! What a day! Light winds. Warm temperatures exceeding 20 deg C. Good turnout after a small initial group. And it was awesome.
Welcome to Stephen, friend of Rhoady and Blair, who quickly mastered the sticks on the Apprentice. Two really great flights. Great in the turns. Good control of the plane. Wow... just wow! Well done! And Rhoady mastered the landing too (almost as if he had done this in the past! ).
We had several groups of observers at SP today, watching the fun. And one very interested person who might be looking to join after a few intro flights (he did not have time today).
I have some video to sort through... we will see if there is anything worthwhile. In the meantime, a few pics are attached.

Well, this morning started out foggy and drizzly in contrast o the forecast, but by 10am wind had dropped and skies brightened. I had the chance to test out a couple of my indoor models. The Acorn and

I've posted a fairly long video from Sunday on our Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1238261103572523.
You don't need to be a member of Facebook to view. Be sure to set the quality to high (with the "gear" icon in the lower right hand corner) for best viewing. Lots and lots of launches and perfect grabs by Josh; some slow flying with John; some quicker action with Rhoady and a few other planes in-between! Always a great time.

Great work Brian! It is so cool that we have out very own videography department. Seems like a good way to document the safe enjoyable fun we have at HEFA.
It was also very heartening to see a few spectators there. The young woman with her son actually posted a video of my DLG launches to her instagram; a neighbour of mine sent me a link asking "is that you???".
I noticed you were getting a lot better at tracking the moving planes in the air, which gives us some great shots. Well done as always.

It would be so much easier if only the planes would stay in a straight line....lol. The constant turns (which I know are required but which are sometimes unpredictable) add a level of complexity for an amateur. I am not sure how the FliteTest guys do it.... maybe with a FPV set-up with goggles and more power in the camera drone and (oh yeah!) skills....
It can be tough to find even the larger planes on a small screen.... easier on a larger computer screen for sure.

I am sure having only a small screen to watch (in the sun) makes things much harder!
