A lovely sunny Saturday, about a half dozen braved the -7 deg temperatures. Cloudless sky with ZERO wind. Only obstruction of the sun was from smoke from Tuft's Cove which caused shadows on the pit area only.
Good representation of quads, Helis fixed wing and sailplanes.
Quite strong and consistent thermals giving sailplane climbs close to 800 ft, (yes there are thermals over frozen ground)

Re: Feb 19 Shannon
It was an incredible morning for thermals! I think the sailplanes really made a name for themselves today. I was doing loops and flying all over the place, basically in lift the entire time! I think there was one day last summer that had thermal activity at this level, but this probably had it beat because the lift was so diffuse.
John also gave me the ribs for the mayfly, so I’ll be able to get started on that build soon!
