Weekend - February 12/13, 2022

Nice to get out of the house and to see some familiar faces at SP on Saturday! Can we order more of these types of days all winter long? Nice temperatures into the double digits. The day started quite foggy but once the fog lifted... the fun began (at least for me!). It was supposed to be very gusty but the bulk of the winds held off until 10:30am or so.... enough time to get in a few well deserved flights. But then it started to get quite turbulent.

Tomorrow morning should be ok for another go....! Temperatures hovering near 0°C and winds that should be acceptable. Wind chill near -4°C so dress warmly. See you there!!!!!

Don't forget your MAAC as we are very much into a new year!

Well... well... well....! What a morning! Mostly light winds and slightly warmer temperatures than anticipated.... and a good turn-out. Lots and lots of flying. Planes, gliders, helis.... we had them all covered!

Definitely fun times at SP.

Thanks to Bob S, Bruce L, and Ron S for renewing their memberships! Speaking of members - and not sure if you noticed - but some videos were taken from the parking lot of our planes in flight. Melissa was recording and is an avid RC'er and is interested in trying her hand at flying. She might be back in a few weeks for an introductory flight or two.

Fun times for sure!

Oh... and I should have thanked Chris for the multiple launches of the Eagle-replica. The maiden went really well. Definitely needed trim but this thing is all wing. 12 mins in the air and the battery was down to 3.92V. Hardly touched so definitely the potential for a lot more flight time.

It is a gentle flyer for sure. Thus far, more on the slower side of things which is just fine for a more scale appearance in the air.

Brian,

Yes, it was a great morning of flying. I also want to thank all the other members who were flying planes this morning for adjusting their flight path a little bit to allow me to fly the heli at the end of the field at the same time. I felt really safe this morning flying the heli due to everyone calling their landings and take offs and giving me some extra room to fly the heli.

These small heli's are no match for the much larger planes so thank you all for giving me some plane free air space!!!! My heli skills are a little rusty so I needed all the space I could get this morning!!!!
