Do you plan on flying? If so, let other members know the details.

As we know, lots and lots of cold windy weather lately. Tomorrow morning is projected to be cold (-7°C) but with very light winds early in the morning. If all goes according to plan, I will hope to be at SP for 9am or so. Anyone else thinking about venturing out???

Weird forecast. Before 9am almost no to low winds from NE switching to high winds from SW around 10 to 11 am with temperature rising.
Worth a try for sure, this sitting around just leads to silly things like finishing the details on my Mayfly plans and ordering five new receivers and trying to get some Dualsky motors which are backordered.
Latest news is that there are at least 4 or five Mayflys on the building board.
Came across a new wing design CAD program which appears to be very easy to use and I am getting a copy. Works differently to Fusion 360 and other regular CAD programs, but is 3D and works well for airfoil manipulation and spar fitting. It has a very impressive tutorial.

Time to design some new models.

Well…! What a day! Good turn out of members in this time of winter and COVID. Nice to see people out again - some to fly, others to watch from the warmth of their cars!

Chris H, Rick, Bruce M, Josh, John O’S, Greg (welcome again to our club!) and Paul. Short visits from cars by Ron, Tyrone, Chris D, Jack and Bob.

The morning started cool but without winds it was quite comfortable. Cooler fingers as the winds picked up but warmer temperatures prevailed for continued fun.

Speaking of fun - I was happy to get my new Twin Otter in the air. Gentle little flyer. Certainly that ground is unforgiving and rough, but all was great. Lots of playing with flap/elevator mixes to try to get it just right. Definitely a keeper.

Hopefully the weather next weekend will be favourable.
