Weekend - November 6/7, 2021

Another great weekend for our hobby!

Unfortunately, I was not able to participate in flying Saturday morning at SP due to other commitments but was able to enjoy some fun at a sister club in Truro. Big jets there. Wow!

But today at SP was just great. Lots of people out for some fun and excitement. One person up on a training flight... someone who (with his wife) was walking past looking for the (now closed) walkway to the observation platform. He did great on the short flight!

Nice to see another maiden by Mark. Lots of other flying too and Chris was trying his hand at gliding. A bit of a different experience with slower speeds and hunting for those elusive thermals.

Some pics below.

Good photos and thanks for posting the video! It’s great to have a visual record of the club activities.

The air was really odd and turbulent on Sunday, and I think a lot of pilots noticed that, not just the sailplane folks. I found my Introduction F5J was jumping up and down a fair bit, and would suddenly stall or tilt due to irregular gusts.
