Flying Sept 30th.

Unread post by Road507 » Thu Sep 30, 2021 4:36 pm

Great afternoon at the field today. I was surprised to only see myself and Blair. The winds were perfect for his new Eflite Valiant and my Viper 70mm. Blair was able to fly around 5 batteries and had great take offs and landings with the help of safe. Great Job!

Finally got the new 6s 3300 mah batteries for the Viper and can now get around 4.30 min of flight time. Just need to figure out the slight bounce on landing with the heavier batteries. I can land perfect with the 6's 2650s but for some reason the extra weight is making it harder for me to land without bouncing. This is a great flying plane and I am sure the landings will get figured out. Had five flights today and no damage at all so great day over all.

Hope to see everyone flying soon!

It was a great day. Chris and I were there in the morning until after 10. Flew all 6 batteries I brought with me.

I never crash, I just create exciting ways to meet the ground. After all, take-offs are desirable, landings are inevitable.

Good report Rhoady, nice to hear your enjoying the new Viper. Some guys are doing an upgrade and going to a better sprung gear on that model.

Here is a link to a Toronto Club member who posted the link to a guy called "just plane crazy" who got the new gear from RC Castle.

Bill,

Thanks for the link. I was looking at this gear for the Viper and I think it will help with the landing bounce and prevent the front nose wheel from bending which is an issue with the Elite Viper especially flying off grass.
