A wonderful weekend all round. Little or no wind and nice warm temperatures produced perfect flying conditions. Not a lot of direct sun to dazzle fliers at altitude. All classes of models flown, from high speed EDF and Strykers to sailplanes and multicopters.
Sunday produced a big jump in attendance and between those who departed early and those who arrived later, I counted about 20 people flying.
We also had a resurgence of a number of fliers who had not been out in a long time, emphasizing the importance of HEFA in promoting high quality electric flying in the province. The easing of Covid restrictions is welcomed, although the fliers maintained the suitable distance requirements.
Exchange of new ideas between modellers is an important part of the flying sessions and also the contributions of our instructors (including one who may not need to be named) to the education of new and returning fliers is well appreciated. The club has never been as vibrant or relevant.
