For the first time ever, I plan to give it a go at Shannon this morning.

Kevin - thanks for posting. Great to see you and looking forward to the next time too!

Certainly a great turn out this morning. Mostly calm winds which built up to more of an easterly meaning cross-wind landings but decent temperatures.

Amazingly great that everyone was wearing masks as much as possible too. Incredible. Thanks everyone!

Here is a picture of some "action" on the flight line: Bob, Mark, Josh and John.

Wow..that "panorama" shot is awesome..!
I clicked on it, it opened very large, enough to spot that yellow Tractor truck parked in a driveway off to the left..!
Gives me an idea to have a mural made, say about 10 feet long, and have it in my "home office" on two walls, each five feet, above my pc desk ..! Have to have a plane in it though..!

(Better keep that idea to myself for now..!)

It was great to see everyone this morning. A bit chilly and had real issues with foggy glasses, however; I know I wasn't alone.
Thanks for the hospitality.

Bill - the pano turned out ok... and the original (14.3MB) has even better detail as this posted version is reduced to 2MB as required for the forum.

Here's another two that I took before arriving at SP this morning from Halifax.

Fun times!! Red sky in the morning.....

Cool picture Brian!
Thermal conditions were poor but any day in the air is a good one!

Bill - the red sky pictures were taken between 7:25 and 7:30am - or so.

I am seeing lots of similar pictures on social media although none have this perspective!

Still thinking about the great day. Winter flying can be a lot of fun if you are well prepared and if conditions are not too windy. And a skim of snow is even better (before a lot of footprints) as it takes out all of the bumps! Be sure to try it with water planes, skis or floats!!
