A small and manageable group at SP this morning. Cooler weather with temperatures near freezing and that wind was bitter on the fingertips!

A few options out there (search "RC Transmitter Bag Warm" or similar) from Banggood and Amazon. Tomorrow - Sunday - is looking windier and again with temperatures near freezing.

Quick shot - really just a frame capture from video - from my drone which I flew after all other batteries were exhausted!

Everyone stay safe!

Hi Brian,

I was surprised when I drove by SP this afternoon and saw a green, completely snow-free field. I was out at the Beaver Bank Road field this morning where the field and runway were covered by 3-4 inches of icy snow. Quite a difference for only 31 km away "as the drone" flies!

Snow can be a lot of fun too... especially if there are not a lot of footprints to devour your plane skimming the surface on skis or floats.

Despite the restrictions due to this Covid crap, we have, within HEFA come up with a safe mode of operating which allows our members to get a reasonable amount of distanced flying at Shannon Park. This, I believe is a very important factor in keeping us involved in model flying as an ongoing active Hobby. I am, at this advanced stage of my life, a firm believer in that a constructive hobby is a Major health sustainer in times of duress.
The very fact that we can get out for a flight or two despite the cold temperatures is a very positive factor in maintaining a positive benefit and is a testament to the realistic attitude of our membership in HEFA.

It was a great Saturday and a real pleasure to see some people again! I had one good long flight with my Spectra; a waggling of the wing moments after launching indicated some surprise lift, and before long I had it trimmed to circle up up and away mostly hands off, and could keep my hands warm in their pockets!

It was a good flight with a gentle landing.
