Unpredictable weather!

Unread post by DoverSail » Sat Nov 21, 2020 10:04 am

What a tragedy! I was planning on going to SP tomorrow (Sunday Nov 22) because Saturday was supposed to be very windy, but looking outside, it’s a beautiful day!

How is it at the field?

Hopefully I’ll see some of you there tomorrow...

Just returned from Shannon, Despite the higher winds forecast it was very calm. Had a few Mayfly flights with small intermittent thermals giving decent durations. Right now it it is supposed to be 15km+, but I saw no evidence of that. Forecast for tomorrow was supposed to be high winds, but my 2 sources now give one at 12 kph from 9 to noon and the other gives 12 kph reducing to 9 kph by `1 pm.
should be good tomorrow

Yes John, Windfinder is usually quite good, but as you said, it is currently predicting very high winds for today and that clearly is not the case. I’ve just been flying my FunCub here as a consolation!

If the weather looks acceptable tomorrow, I’ll be there (with some hot coffee; it looks like it will be cold).

Ah well, this leaves more time for me to work on the Introduction F5J fuselage.
