Great day at the field today. Unfortunately some local ATVer thinks the field is a good place to do donuts. Really making a muddy mess of it since the ground is so wet. I wish there was a way to keep them off the field.

A couple of things that might help.
Bolt or lock a chain across the gap in the fence separating the field from the pits.
Put a pair of steel posts where the road turns to enter the field. Put a locked chain across, keyed alike to the lock on the chain across the gap in the fence. Fasten a steel post to the chain half way across. Put a concrete block on the ground end of the steel post. That keeps the sag out of the chain and prevents them from lifting the chain up to drive under.
Put logs in the grass from the 2 steel posts along the perimeter of the cut area. Good sized logs in tall grass is a surprise and an obstacle to a 4-Wheeler or a trail bike.
Hide a trail cam and get pictures of the offenders. Lay charges.
If you value using the field, maybe a few starter steps like those above will start to indicate to the offenders, that they are not welcome. If they break down by hitting the logs or can't easily get their 4 wheelers over them, they will start to see the extra effort as not worth it.
Logs can be drilled through and pieces of rebar driven through the log and bent over to hold them in place. Used power poles are often good sources. A letter to the various utility companies might find a source. Most times as poles are replaced in an area, the contractor would love someone to reuse them. It saves them the cost of hauling them away. K-Line is one such company that does contract pole replacement. There are many others.
