Need Easystar motor
Hi, just bought an older Easystar without a motor. I have a 30amp ESC and 3s batteries. I was hoping to go brushless, but... Does anyone have either a 'drop-in' motor in the 1000kv to 2200kv range that you KNOW would work (I read that the 2200 was a usual upgrade by user) OR specific brand/size/spec recommendations that I can order? ( I don't really need a hot rod! ) Thanks for any help on this.

Re: Need Easystar motor
If the plane still has the brushed speed control, I have some brushed motors that are a perfect fit. With a 3S2200 you can get 25 plus minute flights. I have a pair of EasyStars that still use brushed motors. They work fine. If you want vertical performance get brushless, but this is not the typical use of the plane.
Usually the brushless motors people use in these are inrunners. They tend to be heavier than the stock brushed motor. With an inrunner, you often have a tail heavy plane. Then you have to use at least a 3S2200 or bigger to get the CG correct.
I can be reached at 499-5250
