Very nice Bill!
Looking forward to this one too.
Lools like to big a prop for a 480. Did you super size the motor?

Real Nice Bill! Looks just like mine minus the Pumpkin Pilot and spinner! I notice you used some small screws to attach the canopy. Probably a good idea as I found it quite an exercise to glue on!

Yes...you only mess up ONE canopy with glue before you decide to screw them on....besides, the little guy is allowed OUT once in a while...!
Dave..prop is a 11/4.7 SF from APC. This plane is supposed to 3D and prop hang, etc, so needs a large diameter prop.
This Torque motor is rated 277 Watts on 3S...about 25 amps. Compares nicely with the EFlite 480 motor.
"Pumpkin Head" was found living at Dollarama...so I adopted him for $1.50 + tax and promptly threw away his body...he didn't need that..!

Re: Twist 480 from EFlite
So on the maiden flight, I land short of the field by two feet and not only break a prop...but tear out the landing gear plate by landing in tall grass. I could hardly believe that this gear plate was this fragile with it's simple butt joint with the balsa sides of the model.
Here is my repair description.
A pair of spruce (or basswood) longerons were added to each side...I label them "A" and "B"...these are epoxied.
A 1/8" 5ply gear plate , labeled "C", is positioned above A and B and secured. Any landing forces are now distributed via A and B to the entire front sides of the model.
A new bottom, from 1/16" ply is epoxied into place and clamped overnight.
The new bottom is sanded and edges tapered...and new covering is applied.
Although I show steel cap screws holding the landing gear....I likely will change this to 4/40 Nylon bolts in future.
