Tk you Sir. I have same HK BEC you're talking about that has jump plug selectable output voltage

Hopefully that'll do the trick

Tks again

PS: We'll need to fly them together, one nitro and one electron ;-)

This video is for you Marc....watch the last case of closing the gear doors...definitely looks like the voltage was getting low, causing sluggish operation..LOL..!

...and let's hear it for our Canadian engineers...building landing gear for the A380 Airbus,

Problem SOLVED!!

Whenever I was flipping retract switch, either only one retract was deploying (it could be right or left) or they would just make a noise and not deploy.

I was able to resolve the problem through a solution that was not found on the various groups and internet.

My setup, I have a pair of E-Flites 46 size electric retracts for my H9 Corsair and am using a Spektrum receiver. Receiver battery is a 1450mah LIFE4 2S battery and I have a Saito 82

I knew the problem was not the retracts binding as I tried a servo tester w retracts mounted in the wing with the same LIFE battery - and the retracts deployed without problems. So problem had to be connections or receiver signal. Here's my solution that worked

The E-Flite Y connecter that is supplied has a signal amplifier. This E-Flite amplified Y connector has to be plugged in DIRECTLY into the Spektrum receiver. Some of us sometime add short leads into the receiver for ailerons and retracts to save wear and tear on receiver when plugging the wing in

Once I removed the short lead I had in the receiver, and plugged the E-Flite Y amplified connector directly into the receiver - retracts worked perfectly

Hopefully, this helps others who may have same issues

That sounds like the extension has a poor connection to one of the pins. There would have to be a lot of signal loss going through the extension for it to fail due to low rx.
I have two sets of eflight 60-120 retracts and one is on a 30cm extension, the other is on a 15cm extension with no issues.

I'm using the amplified connector with my eflite retracts in my mosquito and they are working fine with spektrum radio. Haven't seen any mention of problems with it. Should I be looking at changing it out?

Btw, I too think it is binding. My retracts have a cut off if they jam and when setting them up I saw some similar movements as those in your video. Removing some restricting material on the sides of the nacelle cutouts so there was no binding fixed things in my case.

DX8 manual, page 11, first sentence top right.. "Do not use.....blah blah blah..

My final try out will have to be after the wing is assembled and turned upright...there can be quite a difference, especially picking them up.

Bill

Marc C, and others...have you read this reference to the Y connector with the amplifier supplied with the retracts on page 11 of the DX8 manual...?

I'm sticking with these two causes...in this order....LOW VOLTAGE and THE Y CONNECTOR THAT COMES WITH THE EFLITE RETRACTS....in your case Marc, I think you were loosing voltage within your wiring.

It was sporadic on mine (nice word), and it was not until the RCG guys kept chiming in with "change the Y" that I remembered....who knows maybe a fix has been made on the more recent gear from Spektrum.

I think you always have to be ready to re-cycle the gear, especially on landing. We might need spotters...."are they down...Yes, but are they locked...hummmm!"

Will likely see you Sunday, I should maiden my 9 lb Cap...and Richard and I have a private meeting..."just Contest Directors "...!

E-flite y amplifier continues to be flawless on my mossie and also now on my eflite p-51. up and down as expected every time. Also very reliable gear strength wise as well. perhaps as Bill said they've made some changes.

I can guarantee I'll be doing low passes w gear down to confirm they are indeed both down before landing ;)

I guess the only thing that hasn't aged with me is my eyesight. I can still clearly see my gear come down way way out on the down wind leg every time. Lol

Never do a flyby to check it. Both the gear and my eyesight have never failed me. Lol

Now if some of the other stuff still worked as good…..
