How Airfoils are really designed

Unread post by JohnOSullivan » Sun Jan 18, 2009 5:40 pm

The truth is out. I have carefully researched the depths of airfoil design and have unraveled the myths that have been inflicted on us for over 100 years.
I am attaching a graphic pdf illustration of how it is really done. This is mt Denver Hayes Size 12 section, but I have also used the Clarke size 10 (UK Size) and a few other well known shoes (not italian- I can't afford them)
All these skinny and peculiar wing sections, ranging from symmetrical to highly undercambered flouted by the experts (Selig, Eppler etc) are the result of aerodynamicists with rather peculiar foot shapes and it is only through a miracle that these sections work.

Those with fallen arches are the generators of the best airfoils.

Just checked this and found that my pdf file did not go through.
I'll have to see if I can get it on as a jpeg.
