July 5 2015 Flying Lawrencetown
Wind has shifted to 15 kph from SSW - perfect for slope flying at Lawrencetown.
No matter what direction the wind blows, st this time of year, the seabreeze at lawrencetown switches to south in the afternoon.
I'm heading out. Come and experience the joys of slope flying before supper.

Re: July 5 2015 Flying Lawrencetown
I tried sloping my tiny TG-3 glider (indoor aero-tow model) off of the sand dunes at Martinique Beach on Sunday afternoon. Unfortuantely, the wind had too much of a cross-shore component and the little model didn't have the control authority to deal with it, so it kept getting blown sideways out of control along the dunes.
I'll have to try it another time when the wind is a bit lighter and more directly onto the slope.

Got out and put over a half hour on my carbon Orange Wicklow model. The wind was in the 25-30 kph range which suited it fine. A black winged gull (likely a young Herring Gull) took a liking to it and flew in close formation for more than 5 minutes. This is very common in August. He would tag along, following every turn, about 50 ft. behind. Good fun!
