Long Weekend - October 7/8/9, 2017

GREAT morning on Saturday. Good turnout too. Warm and no wind. Just perfect conditions.

Nice to see John L attempt to maiden the Sea Fury - with a personal history. Too bad that the grass did not facilitate the take-off and instead resulted in repeated nose ins of that large 5-blase prop.

A few quick shots below. The two-stage retract doors and split flaps were rather impressive too.

Tomorrow is looking to be windier - time will tell - but Monday currently looks better!

Good time today..!

Great pics Brian...that second shot of John with the Sea Fury could be a cover for a RC model mag..! Perfect lighting on the model, and not bad on the plane either..! :)

Let's see what Sunday brings..!

Missed yesterday as Adam and I went to the Octoberfest fun fly at the Wings of Wellington field. Lots of other flyers and a few others from HEFA. Great runways and we got lots of flights in.

Dropped by the field this morning and flew a couple of batteries before it got too windy. No one else there. I'll be back tomorrow. Weather and wind look good.

I never crash, I just create exciting ways to meet the ground. After all, take-offs are desirable, landings are inevitable.

Monday ---- Wow Wow Wow! What a day! Very light winds. Blue skies. Warm temperatures! What a treat for October! Good turnout too.

Quite a few people dropping by to check us out too. Nice to get Mark up for a training flight too.

What a rewarding day...Bob flew his Eflite ducted fan jet for his maiden flight and he did himself proud in front of four of us spectators..! He used all the field to get her off the grass but then put on a real show while all the time preparing himself mentally for the one mandatory requirement...LANDING...!
After a three minute shakedown flight he lined her up, dropped the flaps and brought it in with only one bounce...! Lo and behold he still had a large reserve left in his 4 cell battery, so he likely will reset his timer for 4minutes or more.

Terrific day, warm with virtually no wind. Nice to have John L join us again...this time with his eight prop Hexocopter..!
