might I suggest this thread go a teeny bit further with rationale behind some of the user names. I know yorcram is mark's name spelled backwards and retired VTT means vertical transportaton technician. Vic's is good. Coyote is easy with your last name. Dirt torpedo? ghost flyer? etc....must be a story behind most of them.

astroflyer is very simple. comes from my use of astro motors (talk about pricey) when I started electric flying. At that time, I was probably the only e-plane enthusiast in eastern canada and e-flying wasn't genarally accepted. One prominent flyer locally (not gonna give names) told my son "your father would be a really good flyer if he had some real airplanes"

I still chuckle at that one especially since that flyer has seen the light and indeed he now has some (but not all) real airplanes.

Al Eastman is not just an Atlantic Electric leader, he was an acknowledged developer of early Electric designs internationally. Back then in what Al describes as "Arc Welder Electric" days, very few people had much of a clue as how to match batteries, motors speed controls and models. I tried an Astro Cobalt model in the late 80's but did not have much success.
Astro ( Bob and Roland Boucher) was the leading light in motor design back then, thus the "Astroflyer", title for Al.
Al published a number of designs which were practical and well accepted by the blossoming "Electric Crowd".
Things have moved a long way from those days and Al has kept pace with his Ampmeister, Stinger Gemini and other designs.
His site is www.eastwindmodels.com and he presents a variety of model plans.
Anyone who has seen Al's Photographic skills will appreciate the detail which he also applies to his well designed models.
We are fortunate to have his long developed Electric experience at our service.

Wow, great picture Steve because that is definitely Marc at his best!

I know you have a couple of pics of me too so please post.

As for my user name? I loved rockets when I was a kid but to be honest I chose that ID the first time I had to create an account on one of these RC forums because of the Elton John song which is a classic for me and was probably playing in my head at the time. I had to add the 'RC' at the end to make it unique.
