Drone Innovators

Many years ago, maybe 20, John O'Sullivan created a camera carrying plane that he called the Eye Spy. It used a digital camera triggered by a servo. The camera was aimed sideways. He took many pictures. The design was very innovative.
Similar designs are the Skywalker 1900 and 1730 etc.
Well now in 2024 we see the russians have a new design of drone that they are trying to get into production.
There are several pictures attached. The bottom is a Skywalker from the Skywalker web site. I know someone around Halifax that has one of these. In can carry 2 of 3s5000 LiPo, a camera, an autopilot, and about another half kilo and not seem to notice. The design is a good 10 years old. The middle one is a Mini Skywalker with 840 mm span. I have the previous Mini Skywalker with about 600mm span.
The first picture is the "new" russian design. Note the similarity to John's decades old design. John went one better with a full flying horizontal tail.
John O'Sullivan has been an innovator throughout his hobby endeavours. It seems the rest of the world is just catching up. I hope John posts a picture of his Eye Spy.
