Revisions to Transport Canada Model Aircraft

Unread post by bdg » Thu Jun 29, 2017 8:26 am

There are some new changes on the Transport Canada site:

https://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/mediaroom/inte ... craft.html

These seem to relate to changes in minimum distances from airports and now differentiate helicopter-only aerodomes. Also, some minor changes to the distances from buildings, etc.

this is much better. It looks like the restrictions about flying near buildings, animals, and sea plane bases has been removed, but I still don't like the need to provide so much personal information on the plane.

I never crash, I just create exciting ways to meet the ground. After all, take-offs are desirable, landings are inevitable.

As one who has put a name and address on all my Free Flight models since the 50's, I never considered it an imposition. However in this day and age with escalating infringement on our privacy, it may be too much. The marking of our models with our MAAC number ( which I always do) should allow any legitimate authority to track us down.
