Shearwater Fun Fly - July 16

Unread post by bdg » Fri Jul 15, 2016 4:44 pm

Just a reminder that the Shearwater Fun Fly is taking place tomorrow at the Shearwater field. This is a great opportunity to see some turbine jets up close, as well as a wide assortment of other types of planes and helicopters. I understand that there are games and other events planned as well.

HEFA representation at the recent ASRCM fun fly was huge and members are encouraged to take in the events at Shearwater this weekend.

And to top it off - the weather is looking great!

Their website forum is at the following URL: http://shearwaterflyers.proboards.com/

This is an image from the SW Facebook page for info.

I'll certainly echo Brian's advice to get your butts over to Shearwater tomorrow to take in their Annual Fun Fly. Lots to see and do..!

I have a family event that will take precedent, but I know it will be a fun day with excellent weather. You have not experienced the full gamut of RC until you've seen and heard a turbine powered jet in action. I actually find them MORE exciting than the real thing, due to the closeness to the tarmac that they fly!

Something for you to know as well, is that all HEFA members, upon losing our Shannon field October 1st, will be able to fly at Shearwater for the balance of this year, for the minimum cost of $2.00 each visit. The SRCF executive have arranged this for our members, and we appreciate their help in a time of need..!

cheers,
Bill

Thanks for sharing, John. Great shots!

One of those pics must have been taken before Bruce, Adam and Bob made it to SW later in the morning!

Thanks for the postings , guys!

And thank you to all the HEFA members who came out to share the day with us! It turned out to be a banner day, with perfect weather, and some spectacular aircraft and flying to be seen and done. The spectator attendance was also surprisingly large and great to see.

Thanks,
Vic

Great show of aircraft. Adam was really impressed by the jet. It made an incredibly realistic sound and the smoke was cool too. I told him I didn't know if you could add a smoker to an electric plane.

I never crash, I just create exciting ways to meet the ground. After all, take-offs are desirable, landings are inevitable.
