Have to love misinformation like this, flying from parking lot over the fenced off area. Funnier still in a segment supposedly about rules.

Shannon Park as a MAAC registered flying site Registered to Halifax Electric Flyers allows recreational Multicopter usage as part of their insurance coverage for their members. . It does not extend insurance coverage to Non MAAC members and they fly without coverage, unless they have specific independent coverage. This applies to recreational and commercial operations. For commercial operations MAAC provides NO insurance coverage.
I have heard several misleading broadcasts that "Shannon Park is a designated Drone Site". This is only true For MAAC members flying for recreational purposes. The photographer who did a fine video of the housing at Shannon Park is not a MAAC member and if he did so with proper Transport Canada permits he is within his rights. However he should not claim that "Shannon is a Designated Drone Site".
