Re: FPV 250 Racing
At present (April 2015) it would appear that to enter this facet of the hobby a cash outlay of around $800. is required to purchase a ready made racer and goggles. The racer from HH has a stabilization system (SAFE) built into the receiver, which should help out when flying at low altitude.
It's interesting to watch the video of the racer going through what appears to be a public park; a bit scary from an Insurance prospective.

In this video Alex Greve explains how to have a successful FPV race. Frequency management, track location, and vehicle types are all covered in this video. Please take these as suggestions, but you are certainly free to set it up however you like.
