That kid makes it look easy. Its very tough, small and fun to fly. For me, twisted hobbies makes the best profile foamies. Unfortunately they are very expensive but worth it. Keep it very light and get the electronic package they recommend if you can. This one flys much differently if you weigh it down. I use 200 & 280ma 2s packs. I also slightly modified my landing gear and added very small homemade wheels. Its fun to drive it like a car on the gym floor. Joe and Jon (ASRCM) got me hooked on them.
Good luck with it.

Re: TH Mini Crack Yak
Hi Steve,
I've been reading the RCG thread..found here; https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthr ... ild-Thread and there is a lot of info there.
I have everything but the motor ...so will have to go back to the Twisted people for that I guess.
Looking forward to getting it to the Valley indoor venue in late January..!

Their motor is superb. They have matched it very well. Its fairly quick." I "can't seem to fly it as slow as the full size crack laser but you can lower the throws to suit.
Good info on that thread. Keeping it lite will greatly improve how it flies. Hope to see you at Kentville.

Re: TH Mini Crack Yak
There has been a lot of interest in Twisted Hobbies line of Indoor/Outdoor lightweight foamies, and here is a link to a Canadian Supplier in BC. His prices are in Canadian dollars with a $20.00 shipping fee. I ordered an SBach plane at 6pm yesterday and received notice 59 minutes later that it had been shipped..!
Maybe it will be here on Friday. Rumor has it that on a bulk order he reduces his prices.

Re: TH Mini Crack Yak
Got my TH Mini Crack Yak finished up today, ready for the next Kentville Indoor. Weighs in at 4 ozs...plus or minus a few grams. I had a T-Motor 1805/2000Kv motor on hand that weighs 17 grams and is capable of producing 65 watts on a 8/4 prop with a 10 amp esc on a 2S lipo pack. Appears to hover at 1/3 throttle..!
Was shocked to hear today that MSC cannot obtain GWS orange props in the Slow-Fly design, so I put in a $12.00 order on Ebay. These orange SF props are at least half the weight of a comparable APC prop and 1/3 the price. Perfect for these indoor flyers.

Re: TH Mini Crack Yak
Nice job Bill. Looks awesome.
The largest prop I've ever had on this plane is a 7*6 and it was too much for me. I fly with a 7*3.5 sf and I like it. I may even try a 6*4 next time out. Its a great little plane and I'm still getting comfortable with it. Hopefully we get to fly them together next time out. I'm slowly running out of SF props but I do have a 7*3.5 for you and I made an adapter if you want to try the batteries I use.
Sucks about GWS props

These are the 7*3.5 that I use. Never found them in the SF variety. They seem to work fine. I bought them for 12 bucks for 10 of them a couple years ago. This ad price is bizzaar.
