Can anyonguide me as to how useful these are. I understand they prevent damage from dumb thumb?

I've been using them on my Eyespy for the past 6 years and they work very well. These are the older versions without the vertical detector windows.
My new ATTOPilot has a version of the new FMA system incorporated.
Rick has been using a New FMA system on his Heli. it is more sophisticated and smaller than the original.
