DX 7 Battery??
Does anyone use the older DX7 with lipo or life batteries in it ? Is this possible?
I'm thinking of replacing my old nimh in my DX7.
thanks

Do you have to change the battery alarm voltage on the radio for life battery? I've read people have to for lipos.

I haven't. Full voltage is about the same as the 8cell that comes with it.
Don't charge it in the radio.

Re: DX 7 Battery??
Does the dx7 have an option to change voltage?? the dx7s does, only because the nimh pack is only four cells.
I'm assuming your dx7 has a standard eight cell nimh pack, not an eight cell flat pack. if so get a three cell lipo (hk has one that fits transmitters) and add a diode in the line (inooo4) I think is the number from radio shack) to drop the voltage about one volt. you could used two diodes which would then make your voltage meter pretty accurate.
I use one diode with the hk lipo in my futaba radios with excellent results and charge when the voltage gets to near nine volts. mostly i get bored waiting for it to get that low and charge about once a month. lol

This is the Life I use
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/stor ... duct=14076
It will plug straight into your Dx7 using the same plug as the stock unit. They charge through the balance tab just like a normal lipo.
Al is right... They last a lot longer than the night.
