Black Friday

Unread post by bdg » Tue Nov 21, 2017 7:51 am

Again, I am a proponent of shopping local. The local hobby stores - especially MSC - offer great selection and fair prices.

That said - some on-line sites are offering Black Friday sales (haven't seen anything from MSC yet). RotorQuest is offering Phoenix flight simulator today - with a transmitter - for $112. Quite a savings. And free shipping.

UPDATE: This was available this morning at 8am - as of 6pm they are sold out. I am hopeful that a member of HEFA snagged this deal!

ADDITIONAL UPDATE: Version 5 of Phoenix with a DX4e is still available.... as of 8pm on Nov 21... https://www.rotorquest.com/5daysofdeal- ... 03786.html

The Milwaukee heated hoodies and jackets are on sale at Home Depot until Nov 22. $119 for the hoodie and $179 for the jacket, with a battery and charger worth $60. I picked up a hoodie for Christmas, but I might just have to wrap the box so I can use it.

Sorry 119 for the hoddie, not 199.

That's great, Bruce!!!! They are awesome. I use a standard LiPo with mine - simple adapter to use the built-in plug. I recall that they are only 8 Watts or so of heat - but oh that 8 Watts is awesome! I might be able to find a spare plug if you need one.

Thanks for sharing!

Any other good deals for the hobby out there??? Please share!

Got one today at Home Depot. $119 including Battery.
Ensures that I will be getting more air time throughout the winter.
Thanks for the heads-up.

A perfect use for those tired old lipos you were wondering what to do with :-)

I ordered one online (free shipping).

Looks like you might need to have this shipped to the store to take advantage of the free battery... just be aware. But again - a 3S LiPo works great. A 2200mAhr 3S will last roughly 2 hours or so.

You might get a certificate that you can redeem at Home Depot for one. I suspect they were not shipping the lipo due to weight and fire risk.

Not necessarily a Black Friday sale, but the Multiplex StuntMaster is available again at GH. Rick has ~700 flights on his and still loves it.... I purchased one and must say that it is the best 3D plane that I have ever flown. A little fragile on the landing, but otherwise great! I liked it enough to buy a backup.

Check it out - http://www.greathobbies.com/productinfo ... =MPU264293 $169. Incredible plane!

Comes with the motor, ESC, servos and linkages (those are not the best...). All that you need to add is a Rx and battery. I fly with 3S 800mAhr and get more than 7 minutes of fairly aggressive flight time.

Just do it!!! :P

Rob has added the free shipping on HobbyKing for batteries.... note that this is for planes too! Tundra? Yes! Bush Mule? Yes! EFXRacer? Yes! Boats? Yes!

UPDATE EDIT: Not all of these are included in the free shipping.... planes, etc. are apparently too large.

Product exclusions: Around 800 SKUs including bulky items like e-bikes, scooters, 3D printers, planes and cars are excluded from the Free Shipping offer from the Global Warehouse.
