SOY BUTTER - Replacement for Peanut Butter

There is an interesting replacement for "Peanut Butter" and it's a Canadian product called "Soy Butter".

As you may know peanut butter has been banned from most schools due to a small percentage of people having a "nut" alergy.

At "Pete's Frotique" this week they were demonstrating this Soy Butter product as a replacement for peanut butter. I was surprised to see that it's even the same color. I was told it's because the soy beans are roasted prior to processing.

We were told that a "form" has to be picked up from the school, filled out and returned, indicating that the student is in fact taking "Soy Butter" sandwiches for lunch and not peanut butter.

Ya... that's all good and well... and maybe even well and good... but, has anyone considered all of those poor little fury Soys that have to be killed... just so some kid can take a peanut butter sandwich "substitute" to school. I some how doubt it!!!! :evil:

Hmmmm roasted soy. or soy-sages...good with eggs. think I will go hunt some more fury soy, they are tasty with their winter coats 8-)

Give me Marmite on Toast any time...Can't understand what you see in Peanut Butter anyway... :roll:
