A bunch of you were interested this morning in my retracts. Great day to maiden the new Spitfire. All went well, including the operation of the retracts. I found a link somewhere on RCGroups, I think, to www.toysonics.com, or
http://www.toysonics.com/landing-gear/
to go directly to the page, where I got a pair of PZ15090M for $10.99 each, plus shipping of about $8. Received them 8 days later. A touch of Dremel tool and file to excavate a little additional space, but the mounting holes were and exact fit. I'm happy with the service and the parts, even with the little bit of fitting. They've currently got a 10% off sale, and a ton of other stuff of interest.

The drop-in e-flites are $85 list or $70 wholesale.... From what I've heard, the e-flites are better reputed that those from HK over repeated use. Looking forward to knowing more about how these last over time!

The cheaper black HK retracts seem to break on rough grass landings, I've had two of these break the nylon toggle inside, can be fixed but a pain:

The more expensive red ones with the (can be used for steering as well) are quite tough. I've had lots rough grass landings on them hard enough to bend the pre-bent wire. Just bend back the wire and they're good to go again.
