I ordered this C47 on the 22 of Jan. And today I got a email saying it's too big to ship!! Anyone else have this problem with nitroplanes? Where you get a plane too big to ship? Evan had the exact problem with his order of his C47.

Anyways I REALLY like this plane so I looked around and found this website, it's cheaper AND it has free shipping! Anyone seen this site or ordered from them before?!

Be cautious of NitroPlanes. My father and I went to order a B25 from them. Paid for the order via PayPal. A few days later they said the order was being held for "security" purposes. They wanted a photocopy of my driver's license and a photocopy of my credit card before they would process the order. There was no way I was going to give them that level of personal information. The PayPal payment was approved, they just needed to accept the money. Cancelled the order and we bought the much nicer Hangar 9 B25 from MSC instead (at 7x the price) ;-)

I ordered a Dynam T-28 from them last fall with no issues.

I know that USPS regulations have changed effective Jan 2012 - this likely has impacted shipping of certain large parcels

Never heard of them wanting drivers license and such info. Must have been a neewbie at the other end

I had a similar experience with an order from "hobbypartz.com". I had ordered a battery charger, a few LiPos, and an assortment of wheels. My order was paid by PayPal successfully BUT was being held for security purposes. I called them to discuss and they indicated that they had problems in the past with orders and that this extra level of security was meant to help mitigate these problems. They wanted a scanned copy of my drivers license and credit card.... but all that they needed on the license was my address and on the credit card was just the last 4 digits. All other information okay to be removed prior to sending.

Definitely strange, but to me there was nothing too personal that they would not have otherwise had anyways - address and last 4 digits of credit card. After many orders through PayPal in the past, I never had a similar issue with "security"... I would expect that the vendor should be covered by their PayPal agreement.

I proceeded with the scan and received the order within 1.5 weeks.

Their comment was that this was a one-time only set-up and would never be repeated. I - like you - almost cancelled the order. This happened probably 3 months ago.

Good luck with your purchase!

Brian
