Valley Indoor Flying Dec 23rd and 30th, 2015

Unread post by retiredVTT » Wed Dec 16, 2015 8:32 pm

I've just heard from the Valley flyers that it's a "Go" for afternoon indoor flying at the Kentville Dome on Dec 23rd and 30th this year, 1pm to 4pm. Cost is $10.00

In particular I was wondering if we could get a group interested for Wednesday Dec 30th. I know Vic is interested and will likely cancel the session we had planned for Lake Echo, and have it rescheduled.

It would be a great way to close out our 2015 year of RC flying.

Sign in here if your interested.

Last year on Dec 31st, Steve, Vic, myself and I believe a couple others went up and had a great time.

The venue is about three times the length of our local gyms and much higher...!

Give it some thought..the drive is roughly one hour.

Check out this fun packed video sent to me from the Valley guys.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlZLPOWgPrI

cheers,

Bill,

Certainly interested but can't make a definite plan yet.

I have it in my calendar and remain hopeful to be able to participate. Always a balance between weather, Christmas activities, etc.

Fingers crossed that it works out!

I'm planning to go as long as the weather and roads are reasonable.

Umm...I should ask where it is or is there already a post regarding the location.

It known as ..
Kentville indoor sports and multipurpose (Indoor soccer) facility

It's on Park St....which is not much help... take the Exit 14 from Hwy 101 ..then turn right onto the old #1 and come back toward Kentville, keeping an eye toward your left...you will see a large bldg. and that is the location. If you take the first exit (13) you have to go through town to reach the soccer dome.

Edit..this should help; http://www.soccerns.ns.ca/facilities/ot ... es/valley/

I would leave around 11;30am and could wait at the end of the offramp of Exit 14..

..see below for Steve's Google map..

yes exit 13, but exit 14 avoids the downtown traffic...

it's the white bldg...

I'm waiting to see what tonight brings for weather. Right now it does not sound good, as most of today's snowfall will happen overnight.

Later edit...(4pm) just got back from a 2 hour outing to Princess Auto (2 shovels) and CTC ( model stuff) and it was interesting driving. Unless there is a massive improvement by 11am Wednesday, I'll be grounding myself and working in the "shop".

Well, it's 10:30pm and quite a bit of snow down so I've made the decision to forgo Wednesday's Indoor event and snow-blow instead.

I was looking forward to it, but it will still be there another day.

Meanwhile we are at Lake Echo on Wednesday Jan 6th, 6 to 9pm (FREE) and Porters Lake Jan 17th. 9:30am to 12:30pm
